Monsoon Malabar (227g)

Dark Roast
$12.95

Prepared on the Malabar coast during monsoon season. This rare and unusual bean takes 12-16 weeks of meticulous preparation. Growers pick the coffees, and lay them out in coastal sheds, where they absorb moisture from the windy air and increase in size.

Notes: Floral & sweet, with spicey, earthy tones

Definitely interesting

Quite an interesting coffee drinking experience.

This coffee tastes quite similar to an espresso prepared in a moka pot but has the smooth drinkability of drip coffee.
No bitter aftertaste to this coffee.

Exotic & Delicious!

The description of this coffee sold me with it's allure, since who wouldn't want to try beans treated to such a thoughtful process.

It didn't disappoint, although better left for the evening. I found myself really enjoying it on chillier nights, with a few pieces of chocolate close by to snack on. I can say that any dark roast lover should sample this rich and lush coffee.

Now that's deep!

Acidity is pretty much nonexistent. Coffee has a rather heavy texture, very sweet by itself. There's defined peatiness in the aftertaste, alongside a lightly citrusy, honey-like initial wash.

At 16.95$/340gr, it's a bit on the expensive side, but is oh-so worth it.
